Creative ideas welcome
A & B reached out to me to be their DC wedding photographer because they wanted a colorful wedding celebration with their close friends and family. When I did an in-home engagement session with them it was clear that they came with lots of creative ideas and were open to trying new things. Needlessly to say, we had a blast and I couldn't wait to photograph their wedding day.
Maketto Wedding reception
In late September, Maketto Restaurant hosted a breathtaking wedding reception that perfectly blended cultures, colors, and celebration. The venue served as the picturesque backdrop for a multicultural union between a bride adorned in traditional Hindi attire and a groom elegantly dressed in a mauve suit, accompanied by guests in a fusion of Western formal attire. The event decor was curated by Lavender Lane events, who provided the menus and custom displays. The floral arrangements were created by Chenda Nak Floral Design.

The vibrant alleyway adjacent to the restaurant became the canvas for couples' portraits, capturing their love against the backdrop of colorful, local murals. Inside, their journey was commemorated through displayed photographs at the restaurant's main entrance—a beautiful testament to their union.
As guests gathered, the couple and their entourage descended a flight of stairs in the open-air courtyard, accompanied by the upbeat rhythms of Dua Lipa's "Electric." Petals of roses cascaded through the air as they made their grand entrance, setting the stage for an unforgettable celebration.
Let the celebrations begin
Amid heartfelt speeches and convivial toasts, attendees indulged in a delectable meal curated by Maketto. The spread featured an array of flavors, including savory noodles and the restaurant's renowned signature fried chicken, tantalizing the guests' taste buds and enhancing the festive atmosphere.
The celebrations continued outdoors as the couple returned to cut their wedding cake, which was provided by Rose Ave. Bakery, surrounded by the love and warmth of their friends and family. Dancing ensued, creating an ambiance of joy and jubilation, as the newlyweds shared special moments with their cherished guests.
