Stefan A. Photography
A roadmap from LA to DC
Ahoy! I'm Stefan Agregado
At 16 I remember looking at the photos on my friend's bedroom wall. Printed photos of her loved ones and cherished memories pinned to a corkboard and clipped on strings. I knew then that I wanted to make my own image board of people I loved and cared for and places I've been. That Christmas I got my first camera. 19 years later, I have the incredible honor of helping others create their own boards.
As a photography & photojournalism major at Cal State Long Beach I learned every important technical skill a photographer needs to know. As a photojournalist ('10-12) I learned how to be flexible, creative, and to think on the fly so as never to miss a moment. As a world traveler ('13-15') I learned to find the human connection within each person. I founded Stefan A. Photography in 2016 with the goal of capturing people on the happiest days of their lives. I moved to DC in late 2019 and am proud to call myself a Washingtonian.

Here I am winning some awards for my work in photojournalism at my college campus newspaper.
I remember at the time thinking I wanted to be a photojournalist but not quite knowing if that lifestyle suited me. I decided to test the waters shortly after and joined the Peace Corps to see if I had what it took.
Here I am in the coastal town of Safi, Morocco with my with my English students at the end of a 2-year journey. They are some of the most optimistic, welcoming, and intelligent people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Looking back, this time in life opened a new door for me and my work as a humanitarian or at least someone who helps others. I didn't do a ton of photography while I was out here, but I what I did capture holds a special place in my heart.
2016 - 2018
I came back to the states hungry to get back in the game. I moved back to LA and started "Stefan A. Photography", shooting every assignment I could get my hands on using a hodgepodge of photo assignment apps and my network of friends and family. I shot a lot of headshots (so LA), events, and my first couple of weddings.
After LA I moved to the Bay Area where I continued meeting new clients via apps and through friends to shoot events, engagements, and weddings.
Here I am finally moving to DC to be with my wife, Diana, after a few years of working through a long distance relationship. She's my secret weapon, the mastermind who's helped me plan and execute all of my wildest dreams. It was here I really started focusing on capturing other people's love stories and planting my feet firmly on the ground.
"Stefan was AMAZING! His customer service and response time was impeccable. I have a busy schedule but he still worked hard to schedule a time for us to video chat and work out a plan that works best for us. He was the only vendor that was on time and took the lead with directing the bridal party for photos. Please don’t make the mistake of not hiring Stefan!"

"STEFAN TRULY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE SURE MY SURPRISE PROPOSAL EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. HE MET ME IN SECREt BEFORE TO HELP CREATIVELY DIRECT THE PLAN, SCOUT OUT LOCATIONS AND FIND THE PERFECT SPOT. THE DAY OF, HE WAS EARLY, COMPLETELY INCONSPICUOUS AND CAPTURED THE MOST INCREDIBLE PHOTOS OF SUCH SPECIAL MOMENTS THAT MY FIANCÉ AND I WILL CHERISH FOREVER."
