A lesser-known photoshoot location

I am always excited when my couples ask for a session at alternative DC locations. Even though The Smithsonian Castle is nestled in the middle of the National Mall in DC, it's not often talked about. After this engagement session with M & J, for me it stands as an iconic and stylish location for an engagement session. After all, how often can you say you got your photos taken at a castle?

Why I like the Smithsonian Castle

On the outside, the Smithsonian Castle boasts a striking Romanesque Revival architecture, characterized by red sandstone and turrets, offers a timeless and picturesque backdrop. The lush Enid A. Haupt Garden that surrounds the castle provides a beautifully landscaped oasis, brimming with seasonal blooms (saucer magnolias, anyone?) and serene pathways, perfect for romantic strolls and candid moments. As a symbol of knowledge and culture, the Smithsonian Castle exudes an air of sophistication, making it an ideal setting for capturing the depth of emotions and the promise of a shared future. With its central location, couples can also explore nearby landmarks, creating a diverse and captivating album of engagement memories.
