a sun-kissed affair

In the heart of Washington, D.C., there lies a hidden gem that offers a timeless backdrop for intimate weddings: Tudor Place. Nestled amidst the bustling city, A + Z used this historic estate to proclaim their love for one another. For 2 hours their gathering of friends and family matched the setting perfectly; exuding charm, elegance, and a touch of enchantment. Today, we're thrilled to share the story of a beautiful wedding that unfolded on a sunny afternoon at Tudor Place, surrounded by a small group of close friends and family. Join me as a DC wedding photographer to take you on a visual journey through the breathtaking Bowling Green, the enchanting Rose Garden, the scenic East Lawn, and the classic front of house.

EAST LAWN: A PICTURESQUE SETTING

At 4pm A and Z met in secret to have their first wedding portraits taken. Here they had space away from the onlookers and attendees who were gathering across the field for their ceremony. In this quiet and elegant space they were able to breathe and relish in how far they'd come before heading of to the ceremony space. While this couple opted not to do a first look, this would be an idyllic space to meet in private and share such a moment.

Bowling Green: Where Love Takes Center Stage

The ceremony took place on the lush Bowling Green, a meticulously manicured lawn framed by stately trees and historic architecture. Underneath the azure sky and a gentle breeze, the bride and groom exchanged vows in front of their closest loved ones. Among the tranquil fountains and shaded grove the moment was truly special. The verdant greenery and serene atmosphere made it a perfect spot to start for A + Z to journey together. It proved an excellent space to not only tie the knot, but to gather for a heartfelt toast and take formal group portraits.
